The Victorian Age filled with the spirit of the Industrial Revolution is a source of internal inspiration for designers and engineers. Ugears turns to this fascinating era once again to create the V-Express Steam Train with Tender.
The minutely detailed design of the Express reveals the beauty of moving details: gears and a flywheel, and the work of cylinder-piston arrangement.
One full winding will give your Express energy enough to cover a distance of up to four meters. The locomotive has three settings: forward, back and idle. Switch it into the “Back” setting and the Express will roll back and automatically hook up with its tender.
The coal car with lifting sides has a hatch that you can lock with a tiny latch. Assembling the Ugears’ V-Express Steam Train with Tender you will feel like an inventor engineer discovering for the first time the magic of the complex mechanism taking shape in your hands.
The V-Express Steam Train with Tender kit includes 2.45 meters of tracks.
I have been amazed at the quality of the model and the engineering behind the whole thing. It will keep me occupied for quite a while.
Building was fun, some of the smaller thinner parts were too breakable when getting out of sheets. Mainly because the sheets are 3 thin sheets stuck together. Several thinner parts broke on these joins between the 3 sheets stuck together. Overall tho we were able to glue them back together. Final finish is great.
Good model to build had it moving once but then with problems.
Some of the parts were not cut correctly and some of the more important instructions were unclear resulting in broken parts. Ugears promises to replace these parts at their own expense but I have now been waiting for nearly two months (since 5/05) for parts.
Third model finished catamaran helicopter. Now the v express. Love doing these (Can you do a big ship ) looking for my next one and can’t wat
